Dr. Radjab NYABYENDA is a Senior Research Fellow at IPAR-Rwanda. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics, specializing in Macro-Econometric Modeling. His academic background also includes a Master of Science in Economics, a Postgraduate Diploma in Finance, Management and Administration, a Postgraduate Diploma in Stock Exchange, Foreign Trade and Export Marketing, a Bachelor’s Degree with Honours in Economics and Education, and a Diploma in Geography.
Dr. Nyabyenda serves as a Senior Lecturer and Ph.D. Research Supervisor at Kampala International University (KIU). He has previously held numerous academic leadership and teaching roles, including Dean of the Faculty of Education at the University of Technology and Arts of Byumba (UTAB), Visiting Faculty at Auro University in Surat, India, and International Representative of Vanita Vishram Women’s University in Surat, India.
His experience includes serving as Senior Lecturer and Curriculum Designer at East Africa University-Rwanda and Kigali Independent University (ULK) within their postgraduate programs. He was also a Senior Lecturer, Postgraduate Curriculum Designer, and External Examiner of theses at Cavendish University Uganda (CUU). Additionally, he served as a Senior Lecturer through the Inter-University Council for East Africa (IUCEA) at Rumbek University of Science and Technology (RUST) in South Sudan.
Dr. Nyabyenda has been engaged as a Senior Consultant for APPROTECH Porus Pipe Pvt. Ltd. in India, specializing in irrigation, pest control, and aeration technologies. He has also served as visiting faculty at Mount Kenya University (MKU), the University of Tourism, Technology and Business Studies (UTB), and was Director of Academic Quality at Mahatma Gandhi University–Rwanda (MGUR).
His contributions extend to public service, where he worked in Rwanda's Ministry of Sport, participating in the formulation of the Rwanda Sports Development Policy, the Rwanda Cultural and Heritage Policy, and the Rwanda Sports Law. He also contributed to the development of the Rwanda Youth Anti-Drug Curriculum, sponsored by PSI-Rwanda in partnership with the Ministry of Youth and ICT.
Dr. Nyabyenda has an outstanding record in academia and research. He has supervised numerous Ph.D., Master’s, and undergraduate students across institutions such as KIU, ULK, MKU, EAUR, and UTAB. He has presented at national and international conferences and has published several peer-reviewed journal articles and a book chapter.
He was recognized by the National Bank of Rwanda (BNR) as the Best Research Supervisor and received a Best Paper Award at a national conference held at DBIM-VNSGU in Surat, India. Dr. Nyabyenda is also a member of the Gujarat Economists Association, India.
